Why choose Urgent Vertalen for your Albanian translation?

A translation from Dutch into Albanian is always performed by a translator who is a Albanian native speaker. Moreover all our translators are translation graduates at bachelor level or higher.

Every text is unique, so we look at the type of text involved in each translation assignment. We believe it is only right that a native speaker translator who possesses sufficient experience of your professional terminology should perform your translation. So a technical Dutch to Albanian translator will never be given a legal document to translate. This is one reason why you can depend on us to deliver a good translation between Albanian and Dutch.

As a Albanian language translation bureau we translate brochures, CVs, correspondence and handbooks on a daily basis. These translations are always performed carefully by one of our Albanian native speaker translators. We don't just specialise in Dutch to Albanian translation. Our translation bureau also frequently handles other language combinations such as Spanish to Albanian or English to Albanian.

Many of our new and existing clients, such as government bodies, international businesses and private individuals need an urgent translation of for example a diploma, deed, passport or job application into or from Albanian. As a Albanian language translation bureau we offer you and our existing clients our fixed competitive tariffs, with no additional so called "urgency surcharge”.

If you are not satisfied with your Albanian translation then we will simply refund your money to you!

  • You save time and effort.
  • You don’t need to take a day off work to visit the various official bodies.

  • The documentation will be sent to you in traceable form. This way you will know precisely when you can expect to receive your legalised documents.

About Albania and its people

The history of Albanian

Little is known about ancient Albanian, apart from the fact that the first texts date from the fifteenth century. Some linguists believe that Albanian is a modern vestige of Illyrian. This is a language from the classical era which is believed to have died out during the early Middle Ages. This theory has never been proven because too little is known about the language.

The Albanian dialects

Albanian has 2 dialects, Geg and Tosk. Geg is mostly spoken in the North, and Tosk in the South. Both dialects have been influenced by other countries’ languages, so Tosk is strongly influenced by Greek, whilst both dialects have also been influenced by Turkish.

The distribution of Albanian

Albanian is not just spoken in Albania and Kosovo. The language has spread out to bordering countries, including Italy, Macedonia, Greece and Romania. In the south of Italy and on Sicily there is a minority population of Albanians who refer to themselves as Arbëreshë. They established themselves here in the fifteenth century, after the Ottoman invasion of Albania. They speak a Tosk dialect.

The largest minority is to be found in Macedonia; approximately a quarter of the population here is Albanian. The largest communities are to be found in the north-west of Macedonia. There are two significant Albanian communities in Greece, namely the Arvanites and the Cham. From the thirteenth century onwards large groups of Albanians settled in Greece. The communities both speak a Tosk dialect.

Some facts about Albania

  • In Albania shaking your head means yes and nodding your head means no. Precisely the opposite of what we do;
  • There are still many architectural remains from earlier centuries, above all in the cities of Durrës and Shkodra. These are also two of the oldest cities in the whole of Europe;
  • The language has been greatly influenced by Greek and Turkish, and so has the cuisine. So you will find baklava everywhere, and feta and olives are also extremely popular;
  • Albanian is one of the oldest languages in the world.
