Have your documents translated by an official sworn translator
A sworn translation is often referred to as an official translation. However, not every document requires a sworn translation. Examples of documents we translate with sworn certification on a daily basis include birth certificates, general terms and conditions, diplomas, wills and mortgage deeds. These documents often need to be submitted to institutions and therefore must be translated by a sworn translator. A sworn translation includes a stamp, signature and statement from the sworn translator.
If the sworn translation of your document is intended for use abroad, you must then have the sworn translation legalized. Legalization ensures that your sworn translation is recognised as an official document abroad.
To have the document sworn translated, the translation agency in The Hague only needs a clear, unedited scan or photo of the original document. The document will be translated by one of our native speakers of the target language. Naturally, the project manager will determine which sworn translator best suits the technical terminology of your document. A copy of the original will then be printed and attached to the translated document. The sworn translator will add their signature, stamp and declaration. The sworn translation is then an official document within the Netherlands.
