Translate Chamber of Commerce extract
Want to have your Chamber of Commerce extract translated? Choose translation agency Urgent Vertalen
Are you planning on operating abroad? Having your extract from the Chamber of Commerce translated is of critical importance. Extracts from the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce are official documents containing information such as registered data, the address and the date of incorporation of a company. Extracts from the Trade Register are therefore officially drawn up by the Chamber of Commerce. An extract from the Trade Register generally contains complex legal terminology requiring a translator with extensive legal experience. In virtually every scenario, the translation of an extract from the Trade Register requires a sworn translation to be furnished by a sworn (registered) translator. A sworn translator is a translation graduate who has also taken an oath before the court in which he or she swore that every document to bear his or her seal is an accurate and faithful translation, furnished with the knowledge of such documents. Based on this, the sworn translation is an officially translated document within the Netherlands. Naturally, it is also possible to use the translated document abroad by having the document legalized. Please refer to our webpage on sworn translations for more information.

How do I ensure that my Chamber of Commerce extract is accepted abroad?
Requesting an extract is often not enough because there are language barriers. The Chamber of Commerce extract still needs to be translated and legalized. If you want to request the Chamber of Commerce extract, you should bear in mind that an online Chamber of Commerce extract may not be sufficient, as it cannot be legalized. It depends on the country of destination how the documents should be legalized and of course into which language they should be translated. In one country legalization at the court is sufficient and in another country it still has to be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the consulate of the country concerned. Because of these legalizations, your customer/partner can assume that they are official documents and issued by official authorities in the Netherlands. The legalizations ensure that your documents become official in the country of destination.
You can find more information about the authorities you need for each country via https://urgentvertalen.nl/legalisatie/.
Legalize the director's signature for abroad?
Sometimes other documents from your company need to be understood and accepted by companies or governments abroad. As a director, your signature is in the register of the Chamber of Commerce. You can have the signed documents legalized at the legalization department of the Chamber of Commerce. This legalization does not mean that the document is ready for use abroad.
The Chamber of Commerce only legalizes the signature of the director and not the contents of the document. Please note: the Chamber of Commerce does not legalize extracts from the Chamber of Commerce itself. After your document has been legalized at the Chamber of Commerce, the document can be legalized by the court or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, depending on the country for which you need it, and then possibly also by the consulate of the country concerned. More information can be found at https://urgentvertalen.nl/legalisatie/
How do I avoid problems signing documents from abroad?
It is possible that your company has to sign documents from abroad but does not speak or understand the language.
When a document is signed of which you do not understand the language, the document has no legal value, as you have no idea what or what exactly you have signed. It is wise to have the document translated first, so that you understand exactly what it says and you can negotiate what should be in the document/contract. To make sure you sign for something you support, we always recommend signing the version of which you have a good command of the language. That version can then be sworn translated for use abroad.
